A subjective review of the Vapor Power 2 from a self-identified 3.0 player and 11six24 ambassador, comparing it to the Vapor Alpha Pro Power.

Editor's note: This is a guest review from 11sixCheung, a community member and 11six24 ambassador.

In this blog, I will give a subjective review of the newly released Vapor Power 2 paddle, comparing it to its predecessor, the Vapor Alpha Pro Power (VAPP). As a self-identified 3.0 level player, my perspective is tailored to the average "paddle enthusiast" rather than a professional, focusing on feel and playability rather than technical specifications.

Early Access & First Impressions

I received early access to the Vapor Power 2 as a reward for being a top 10% sales ambassador during November for 11six24. This allowed me to test it over a full weekend.

My immediate takeaway was that the paddle did not disappoint. While I acknowledge that a paddle alone won't make someone a better player, this paddle really opened up an avenue where I was previously lacking — generating spin in the kitchen and short game.

The Standout Feature: Hex Grit

The standout feature of the Vapor Power 2 is the Hex Grit, which is the "golden feature."

When comparing to the VAPP, the Power 2 seems to "bite down" on the ball more effectively and allowed shots to be launched in a straighter and more predictable direction. This increased hold on the ball provides a sense of confidence when attempting to drive the ball or place it precisely.

Comparative Analysis: Power 2 vs. Alpha Pro Power

The Vapor Alpha Pro Power was one of my primary paddles, used in both open play and tournaments. However, in comparing the two, I find the Power 2 to be a substantial upgrade in terms of comfort and performance.

The VAPP has a "harsher" feel with more noticeable vibration. In comparison, the Power 2 offers less vibration and cleaner contact.

Furthermore, the sweet spot on the Power 2 is noticeably larger. While off-center hits are very apparent on the Alpha Pro Power, the Power 2 is much more forgiving on shots where I was off-balanced.

Although the older Alpha still performs well in the "soft game" regarding placement and control, the Power 2 offers a significant boost in power for drives and dinks without sacrificing control.

Balance and Control

The Power 2's harmony of power and control is akin to the Loco paddle. However, the Power 2 gives better dwell, in my opinion, while the Loco can feel more explosive and occasionally lead to balls flying out of bounds.

The Hex Grit of the Power 2 grabs the ball for a split second longer than the Loco and VAPP. This split-second delay gives the player more time to decide on placement, resulting in a more controlled experience.

Durability and Future Outlook

Regarding the longevity of the paddle's grit, I am extremely optimistic. I have been tracking Dekel Bar's use of the VP2 since late 2025, when he was first announced having signed with 11six24. He has mentioned how impressed he is about the grit durability.

While a high-level player might wear down the surface in a matter of months, a 3.0 player could likely see it last even longer.

I am most excited for the upcoming release of the Pegasus and Hurache-X shapes in March!

Final Thoughts

As a 3.0 player, the Vapor Power 2 has genuinely improved my game — particularly in the areas where I struggled most. The Hex Grit technology is the real deal, and the overall feel is a clear step up from the Alpha Pro Power.

If you're on the fence about upgrading, I'd say go for it.
