Six Zero Coral Review | Are All-Court Paddles Back?!?

Six Zero was one of the premier brands 2–3 years ago. The Double Black Diamond was one of the best paddles at the time.

Since then they haven't made much that stood out — but the Coral is probably their most popular paddle recently.

Let's see if it can revive Six Zero's momentum.

Reminder: This is a first impressions review, not a full review.

I played with this for a few days, so I can't speak to long-term durability. That said, the Coral is gen 4 with Six Zero's long-lasting grit, so it should be on the more durable side.

Quick Specs Overview

The Six Zero Coral is gen 4 — full foam core, so it shouldn't core crush like honeycomb setups.

It also has Six Zero's Diamond Tough long-lasting grit — if it works, this paddle should last a while.

• My sample weight: 8.02 oz — average on paper, but feels heavier swinging (others noticed too)

On-Court First Impressions

Pop

About average pop. Time counters well — don't expect easy unintentional body bags. Good news: you don't pop balls up too much.

Control & Feel

Control and feel are the best part. Soft yet a little crisp — intuitive, so you know what you'll get from the power you put in.

I was pretty consistent dropping and resetting — reset very well on harder balls with minimal edge hits. Most mishits were on slice resets on easier balls (skill/shape adjustment, probably).

Plays very well and predictably — easy to use and control. Just doesn't have that next-level sweet spot I'd want at the tradeoff of less firepower.

Grit: Claims long-lasting, not super gritty. Average grittiness OOB — a little underwhelming vs hype. They didn't promise more spin — just durability. Spin on drops was fine, nothing aggressive. Top-end spin won't wow you, but it should last longer.

Sweet spot: Good but didn't wow me given the hype. Some edge hits toward the top on slice resets — other paddles bail me out more (skill issue, but worth noting).

Benefit is sweet spot consistency and reset confidence more than raw grit.

Power

All-court, maybe leaning power.

If opponents are close, enough power. If they're deep, you need better angles or deeper baseline placement or they'll get it back.

Serves and returns aren't too powerful — lets you swing through shots, drives included. Putaways sometimes had me wanting more. Drives are solid.

I think the Coral is Six Zero's best paddle right now. Nice control/feel, consistent drops, easy all-court play.

Rating: 8/10

Long-lasting texture is a plus — durability matters at local courts these days. Easy to control in stock form.

Personally I could use a bit more firepower and still control it — a few points where more pop would've won the rally.

Good fit if you want a gen 4 all-court paddle with nice feel, control, and long-lasting texture. Skip if you're power-oriented first.
